# Configure Episodic Memory

> Configure episodic memory for a project.

    Allows enabling or disabling episodic memory components for a specific
    project session. You can independently control:

    - **enabled**: Master switch for all episodic memory. When disabled,
      no episodic memories will be stored or retrieved.
    - **long_term_memory_enabled**: Controls long-term memory storage.
      Long-term memory provides persistent storage with summarization
      and vector search capabilities.
    - **short_term_memory_enabled**: Controls short-term memory storage.
      Short-term memory maintains recent context for the current session.

    Only provided (non-null) values are updated. Fields not specified
    in the request retain their current values.

    Returns 404 if the project does not exist.
